THE LIFE OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT AFTER THE DEATH OF THE PHYSICAL BODY

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 states that, "[6] Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: [7] (for we walk by faith, not by sight:) [8] we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."

When a christian dies, his spirit goes to God, which means in the spirit he is present with the Lord.  There is no middle space.

When a man's spirit goes to God, he is present in heaven with the lord in a state of disembodied spirit. He hasn't put on a celestial body. And because of that he has a certain level of function in heaven in that state, waiting until he is clothed.

And so, when Jesus comes with the saints from heaven to the clouds during the rapture, they will not be visible to the world.

And at the sound of the trumpet, these saints which are the disembodied spirits will have their dead bodies given life and be changed from the natural to the celestial body, and they will get into those bodies and their dead bodies will rise first.

But before then, when a christian dies, his spirit goes to God and he is alive with God. Man is a spirit, he is not a physical body. The physical  body is required in the earth.

1 Corinthians 15:44 states that, ".........There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."

In heaven, you cannot use your physical body. It's got to be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:50 states that, "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption."

You can live and exist without a body.

Demon spirits have no bodies. Those fallen angels who were bereaved of their bodies, they have no bodies. And that's why here on earth, they require to enter in other people's living bodies, so that they can manifest themselves and carry out their evil works. But without entering into those human bodies, they still exist.

So when a man dies, his body is laid to rest and he comes out of his physical body and he is as much alive as he was before. So since he lost his body, he comes out of his body and go to God. He recognizes everything he ever did. And that's why 1 Corinthians 2:11 states that, "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?....."

So when man's spirit comes out of his physical body, he can now perceive things beyond his physical senses. In other words, things he didn't recognize before because of the limited senses of his physical body, and now he can recognize them.

When the spirit of man comes out of his physical body and goes to heaven, there in heaven, there are things he can participate in and there are things he cannot participate in, because there are certain things that will require a body to function with. And so in heaven he will require a celestial body that is not yet given to him.

At the sound of the trumpet, all those that came with Jesus from heaven to the clouds will be instructed to pick up their bodies like a jacket. And instantly they pick their bodies get into them, and the power of God comes upon them and they are clothed with the glory of God as though from on high. That body they picked up is instantly changed.

1 Corinthians 15:52 states that, "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."

1 Corinthians 15:53 states that, "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."

And so that earthly body that they had it is transformed into a celestial body. And with this glorified body, they are with Christ, and those who will be caught up with them will be changed also.

And now they can live with Jesus, function with Jesus at a greater level because they have put on on a glorified body, and they are no longer limited in their work and in the new ministry that they are moved into because now they are getting into another age.
