GIVING YOUR LIFE TO JESUS
GIVING YOUR LIFE TO JESUS
Romans 10:9 states that, "Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
If you or others have not received salvation, the above scripture reveals the fundamental requirements you should use to help them, him, her or yourself in giving their lives or your life to Jesus.
If you want them or yourself to access and take full advantage of all things written in this book, you must first be born again in your spirit if you haven't; by believing that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over your life.
You can't live a supernatural and miraculous life by just wishing to be born again. You have to consciously confess the Lordship of Jesus over your life because Jesus consciously did something to become our Saviour, Lord, our Truth and Way into the spiritual world. He fulfilled the righteous demands of love and justice that consumated salvation for all mankind.
The function of all of your spiritual senses and spiritual sensations cannot be unlimited if they are not made alive in Christ. And in order for them to come alive, your spirit must come out of spiritual death by being born again.
The Lord God became a son of man so that sons of men can become sons of God. God came in flesh so that all in flesh can become gods(psalms 82:6 & John 10:34).
Your spirit becomes a love being when it is given birth to Love(God) Himself.
And so you confess by saying " I believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord of my life." That confession is the principle key that guarantees your salvation.
It doesn't matter how nice you are around others, you can't trust in your good deeds to save you.
In the biblical times, at caesarea, there was a man whose name was Cornelius, a centurion(captain) of what was known as the Italian regiment.
He was a devout man who venerated God and treated Him with reverential obedience as did all his household and he gave much alms to the people and prayed continually to God, yet all these were not enough to the sight of God. God had to send an angel to him and directed him to peter so that he can show him the way of salvation through which him, his relatives and his intimate friends should be saved. Salvation is the most important than all the good things Cornelius and his household did and became before the sight of God.
Hence, even though the prayers of Cornelius, his generous gifts to the poor came up as a sacrifice to God and had been remembered by Him, Cornelius could have still gone to hell had he have died without receiving Jesus as his Lord and personal saviour.
The words of Jesus in John 3:7 when He said " Ye must be born again," is not a cliche or a suggestion. Niceness and good deeds don't save. There's a definite act required for salvation; you've got to receive(Greek:lambano) or 'take hold of' the eternal life that Christ brought.
Christ already made salvation available to everyone. It's your responsibility to reach out and receive your salvation. How? By confessing His Lordship: So you see, the key is in your mouth! No wonder the bible says in Romans 10:8 that, "But what does it say? The Word (God's message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach, [Deut. 30:14.]"
If someone else or you are not yet born again, you can deal with this the right way by helping the person or yourself praying this way:
" Lord Jesus, I ask that you come into my heart and be the Lord of my life from this day forward. I confess with my mouth that you are Lord of my life and believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. I receive your Spirit in my spirit and into my life to be one with my spirit forever; therefore, I declare that I am saved and I have received the Holy Spirit in Jesus' loving name, Amen."
